About us and our pedagogy

LinguFolio comes from a simple idea: a teacher's memory shouldn't be lost between one class and the next.

There are two of us building it: one comes from the product world; the other, from years in the classroom teaching Spanish. One brings the how; the other, the judgment.

Pedagogical judgment, not just a language model.

Behind LinguFolio there's an academic director who has defined what to observe in every lesson and how each material is built: which mistakes matter, when to move forward and when to reinforce, how a unit comes together. We rely on AI to execute that judgment; it doesn't make it up.

Progress, in our shared language: the CEFR.

Everything LinguFolio records (levels, goals, progress) is described with the Common European Framework (A1–C2). We didn't invent a new scale: we use the one you already use.

We build it with teachers, not just for teachers

This project started with our own Spanish lessons. After each one we'd sit down to note what we'd covered, what each student struggled with and what to prepare next - and with more than a handful of students, keeping up with everyone was impossible. We tried spreadsheets, notes, voice memos... nothing held up. So we built what we needed ourselves.

From that came a conviction we don't negotiate: each student's memory and pedagogical judgment are the heart of the product. We listen to the teachers who use LinguFolio to fine-tune - what's missing, what's redundant, what's unclear; the vision and the direction are on us.
